FIFA Announces 2026 World Cup Schedule for Los Angeles
FIFA officially revealed the complete schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday. Los Angeles will host eight matches at SoFi Stadium, with the full list of participating teams now confirmed following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds on Tuesday.
Expanded Tournament Format
The 2026 edition of the tournament will be the largest to date, featuring 104 matches and three host countries. The qualifying process spanned nearly three years and included a total of 899 international matches worldwide.
Teams Heading to Los Angeles
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey were among the last teams to qualify through the European playoffs, securing their spots in the Los Angeles lineup. The city will be a key hub for the tournament, hosting eight games at SoFi Stadium.
Key Matches at SoFi Stadium
The schedule includes two group stage matches for the United States national team against Paraguay and Turkey. Other teams scheduled to play in Los Angeles include Belgium, Iran, New Zealand, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Paraguay, creating a diverse and competitive atmosphere.
Knockout Stage in LA
Los Angeles will also host matches from the knockout stage, including a Quarter-Final match. This demonstrates the city’s importance as a central location throughout the tournament.
