Kane Lee, 28, has been sentenced to four years in prison for burgling the home of former snooker World Champion Kyren Wilson. The burglary took place on June 22 at Wilson's four-bedroom detached home in Barton Seagrave, Northamptonshire, while Wilson was competing in a tournament. Lee stole £250,000 worth of high-value jewellery, luxury watches, designer handbags and cash. Break-in and Stolen ItemsLee acquired tools and clothing from B&Q and Tesco, and fitted his car with cloned plates before travelling to Wilson's property. He smashed an upstairs window to gain entry and rifled through the family home. Among the stolen items were Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Cartier Santos and Rolex Datejust watches, and a blue sapphire necklace that 34-year-old Wilson had bought for his wife. Around £2,000 intended for the BeMoreFab children's cancer charity was also taken.Wilson later posted on social media describing the burglary as a deeply distressing experience. He withdrew from the Championship League Snooker event in Leicester, which he had been playing in. He wrote that the distress was not because of the value of the items alone, but because of the personal memories and meaning attached to them.Arrest, Guilty Plea and SentenceLee was swiftly arrested during a joint operation involving Northamptonshire Police and Bedfordshire Police. He appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court on July 7, charged with one count of burglary dwelling and theft, with no violence. Lee, of Luton, admitted burglary at Northampton Crown Court on Monday and was sentenced the same day. Her Honour Judge Rebecca Crane also ordered him to pay a £228 surcharge. The prolific burglar was previously jailed for three-and-a-half years after a string of Asian jewellery burglaries in 2018. Detective Inspector Alan Rooney of Northamptonshire Police praised the partnership between the two forces. He thanked Bedfordshire Police for their support and said the investigation demonstrated the benefit of sharing information, expertise and resources to identify offenders who cross borders and to secure justice for victims.Rooney added that people often underestimate how violating it feels to know someone has been inside your home with the sole intent of stealing property. He said the sentence reflects how much such a crime can affect someone. He also mentioned Operation Crooked, a commitment to reducing burglaries and taking robust action on information provided to spare residents the anguish of being a victim.Kyren Wilson Career and Future BaseKnown as The Warrior, Wilson is one of Britain's most successful snooker players.
