Summer House star Kyle Cooke has spoken out about his estranged wife, Amanda Batula’s, recent romance with West Wilson. Cooke shared his thoughts in a TikTok interview with Adam Glyn on Thursday, April 2nd.
Concerns for Amanda Batula
Kyle, 43, stated he believes Amanda, 34, was “in a vulnerable spot” before beginning a relationship with West, 31. He clarified he doesn’t know the full details of the situation, but expressed concern for her mental health. “I’m giving Amanda grace just because I know she — just from a mental standpoint — is fragile,” he explained.
Questioning the Timeline
Cooke admitted there is “some murkiness” surrounding the timing of the separation announcement and Amanda’s subsequent relationship. He emphasized his primary concern is Amanda’s well-being, stating, “Right now, I’m honestly more concerned about Amanda’s mental health and I am trying to get to the bottom of it because I am worried about her.”
Criticism of West Wilson
Kyle expressed reservations about West Wilson’s role in the situation. He stated, “I have real issue with a dude that manages to use his charm to get whatever he wants…Says the right thing at the right time.” He added that West “positioned himself really conveniently to be this knight in shining armor for women.”
Cooke also noted that West “basically threw his friendship with me away in one clean swoop.” He doesn’t believe West is equipped to provide Amanda with the support she needs, having “been caring and providing for her for 10 years.”
Future of Filming and the Show
A significant concern for Kyle is the ability of the cast to film together. He stated, “Contrary to belief, I’ve never had an issue with filming with anybody that I had beef with in 10 years.”
Amanda and West's Statement
Amanda and West publicly addressed the relationship on March 31st via Instagram Stories. They acknowledged the online speculation and explained their desire for privacy while navigating the “complicated relationship dynamics.” They described their connection as evolving from a “genuine, longstanding friendship.”
“Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” they wrote. The couple also expressed regret if their actions caused hurt or were perceived as careless.
The news of Amanda and West’s relationship surprised many, including fellow Summer House cast member Ciara Miller, who previously dated West in 2023. The cast is scheduled to reunite for the season 10 reunion later this month, with the future of the show potentially at stake.
