Biopic 'Jimmy' Starring KJ Apa Secures Release Date

An official release date has been confirmed for Jimmy, the forthcoming biographical film centered on the life of iconic American actor Jimmy Stewart. The movie features KJ Apa, known for his role in Riverdale, portraying the celebrated star.

Burns commented on the distribution partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Fathom on the U.S. distribution of Jimmy.” Burns praised Fathom for possessing the necessary “passion and commitment to excellence” sought in a theatrical partner.

Nutt described Jimmy as a “special film — filled with genuine heart and terrific performances.” He noted that the ensemble cast vividly brings both Hollywood’s golden age and the intensity of World War II battlefields to life.

Cast and Pivotal Story Arc Detailed

The film focuses on a crucial period in Stewart’s life, detailing his transition from winning an Academy Award for The Philadelphia Story to his military service. During World War II, Stewart served as a combat pilot and commander.

Stewart flew 20 missions over Europe, achieving the rank of colonel before returning emotionally exhausted. Following this service, the narrative highlights the arrival of the iconic role of George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life.

Ensemble Cast Features Prominent Names

In addition to KJ Apa leading the cast, the movie features a notable ensemble of actors. Kara Killmer plays Lady Julia in the production.
