Kizik has selected actress Andrea Barber for its inaugural television advertising campaign. The brand is leveraging Barber’s recognition from the 1990s sitcom *Full House* to appeal to millennial shoppers and highlight its hands-free shoe technology.
Tapping into Millennial Nostalgia
The campaign features Barber, reconnecting the hands-free shoe brand with the millennial generation who grew up watching her. “Andrea Barber was already a genuine fan of Kizik, which made this partnership incredibly authentic,” stated Kizik CMO Elizabeth Drori to FN. “By bringing back Kimmy Gibbler, we’re tapping into Millennial nostalgia in a way that feels fresh, relevant, and built for sharing.”
Featured Shoe Styles
The advertisement showcases three of Kizik’s slip-on styles: the Monaco, Siena, and Athens 2. Each shoe offers a unique design and features.
Monaco
The Monaco utilizes HandsFree Labs’ External Flex Arc technology, featuring a nylon upper, suede overlays, a full rubber outsole, and a high-rebound foam midsole.
Siena
The Siena incorporates the brand’s Internal Cage system alongside a nylon-and-suede construction, a molded EVA midsole, and a more tailored fit.
Athens 2
The Athens 2 is geared towards active lifestyles, incorporating Cage technology, an engineered mesh upper, flex grooves, a heel stabilizer, and a rocker sole.
Expansion and Technology
This campaign coincides with a broader expansion strategy for Kizik and its parent company, HandsFree Labs. In March, HandsFree Labs entered into a licensing agreement to bring its technology to a wider range of men’s, women’s, and kids’ footwear starting in 2027. The company’s intellectual property portfolio includes over 200 patents.
Recent Brand-Building Initiatives
Kizik has recently focused on building brand awareness through experiential marketing and expanded payment options. Last summer, the company launched a mobile tour allowing customers to experience the hands-free technology firsthand. In November, Kizik partnered with Afterpay and Klarna, offering those payment options on its website, emphasizing convenience, mobility, and independence.
