Kieran Hayler Trial: Ex-Husband Testifies About Katie Price Home After Split Kieran Hayler told Lewes Crown Court he found cocaine and empty bottles at Katie Price's Sussex home after their split, as he denies rape and sexual assault charges. Kieran Hayler, the ex-husband of Katie Price, told Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday that he found cocaine and empty bottles around their Sussex home after the couple split. Hayler, 39, is on trial accused of raping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old schoolgirl in 2016. He denies all charges. Giving evidence, Hayler described chaos inside the family home where he continued to live for two months after their break-up. He said he would come down in the morning to find drugs on the side, cocaine on the worktops, and drugs and alcohol everywhere. The court heard that Hayler moved out in 2018. He told the jury that the house was in an absolute state during that period. The property in Sussex had been dubbed the Mucky Mansion. Background of the AllegationsHayler is accused of three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of a teenager in West Sussex in 2016. He denies the charges. The alleged victim contacted the NSPCC charity in 2021, which referred her to the police, prompting the investigation. Hayler was first interviewed by police in January 2022 and denied any of the allegations took place and that anything sexual occurred. When the trial opened last week, jurors heard that Hayler would say Katie Price made up the allegations as part of a campaign against him. He believes the allegations were created and that he was being set up after the breakdown of their marriage. The complainant told the court last Tuesday that Hayler texted her after the third alleged rape, saying, I love you goodnight, and she replied, I love you too. The jury also heard that in 2021 the alleged victim contacted the NSPCC, which referred her to the police.Testimony from Katie Price and FamilyKatie Price, 48, was cross-examined as a witness earlier this week. She told the court she had not read any media reports of the trial because she was handcuffed to Suella Braverman all week for a Channel 4 show. Arlette Piercy, for the defence, asked Hayler if he believed Katie Price had a vendetta against him following the split. He replied that it was not amicable. The alleged victim's mother told jurors last week that her daughter liked the way Hayler talked to her. She said he told her daughter he did not have any friends and she could be his best friend. Asked why she did not tell anybody else about the rape allegations until after Price contacted social services in 2018, the mother said she had to keep her daughter's secret and trust. She said she could not tell her husband because she knew what the consequences would be.The mother denied she was influenced by Katie Price to come to court and said her daughter was not interested in becoming a celebrity. In text messages read to the jury, Price offered to make the girl a little star. When asked about the phrase during cross-examination, Price said it was just a figure of speech and that there was no agenda behind it when the girl was 13.Messages and Court ProceedingsMessages sent in May 2017 between the alleged victim and Price were read to the jury. In them, Price asked the girl about rumours regarding Hayler. The complainant said she did not remember the exchange, but the court was told Price asked her whether Hayler fancied her and if he tried to kiss her. In one message, Price wrote that she would not say anything and promised to protect the girl, adding that she was only asking because it was a serious allegation. The girl, then aged 14, replied that it was just a flirt thing and he knew it was wrong, and that nothing happened. Price responded that she would not bring it up again and just wanted the truth, and said she would make the girl a little star.Hayler met Katie Price in 2012 and proposed on Christmas Day. They married at a luxury Caribbean resort the following year but separated in 2018 and divorced three years later. The trial continues.
