Kenyon Sadiq, the fastest tight end in NFL Combine history, is rapidly becoming a highly sought-after prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft. Recent visits with multiple NFL teams are fueling the growing excitement surrounding the former Oregon Ducks standout.
Rising Prospect Gains NFL Attention
Sadiq has already visited the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, with scheduled visits to the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings. This interest from playoff-caliber organizations with potential first-round selections highlights his versatility and football intelligence.
A Moment with a Legend
During his visit with the Kansas City Chiefs, Sadiq had the opportunity to meet Travis Kelce. “It was awesome,” Sadiq told Bri Amaranthus of Oregon Ducks on SI. “Just kind of a moment of realization… like, this is the NFL.”
Kelce, fresh off signing a contract extension, was introduced to Sadiq by Chiefs coaches. Sadiq described Kelce as “super down-to-earth” and noted his lack of ego, “especially being the celebrity or caliber that he's at.” The interaction provided Sadiq with a glimpse of the standard he aspires to reach in the NFL.
Discussing the Game with Andy Reid
Sadiq also had a conversation with Chiefs coach Andy Reid, discussing his upbringing in Idaho. The Chiefs offense, led by Patrick Mahomes, frequently utilizes tight ends, making Kansas City a potentially ideal landing spot for a player with Sadiq’s skillset.
Looking Ahead to the Draft
Sadiq expressed his excitement for whichever team selects him. “'It'll be so special. Something that you literally work your whole life for. I’ve been playing football since before I can even remember. So, getting to this point is just pretty surreal,” he shared with Amaranthus.
Record-Breaking Combine Performance
Sadiq turned heads at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, setting a new record for tight ends. However, he emphasizes that his game extends beyond speed. “Versatility is what I really bring and understanding the full offense and impacting it in every way I can,” Sadiq said.
He highlighted his ability to contribute in both explosive passing and dominant running games, and his confidence in his blocking ability. “A lot of people still say that I’m not a good blocker,” he said. “But I think I’m one of the best blocking tight ends in this class. That's something I pride myself on.”
Football IQ a Key Focus
NFL teams have been particularly interested in Sadiq’s football IQ. “They want to see how much I know,” Sadiq explained. “They want to see how my brain thinks and processes information.”
Draft Plans and Oregon Legacy
Sadiq will not attend the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, opting to spend the day with family and friends in Idaho. He plans to invite Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer to join the celebration.
If selected in the first round, Sadiq would become the first Oregon Duck to achieve this feat since Russ Francis in 1975. His impressive production at Oregon, including a program record 51 receptions in 2025, further solidifies his draft potential.
