Kanye West's Return to the Stage

Scandal-plagued rapper Kanye West held his first live concert in Los Angeles in five years on Wednesday night. The performance took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, drawing tens of thousands of fans.

Elaborate Stage and Performance Details

The 24-time Grammy winner began the show appearing in a mask above a smoke-filled, orb-like stage. West performed a selection of hits from his 13 solo albums, simultaneously streaming the entire concert to his Instagram account. These “Ye: Homecoming” concerts represent his first full-scale US headline shows since 2021.

Production Issues and On-Stage Moments

During the performance, West paused the concert multiple times to express dissatisfaction with the production. He reportedly threw a tantrum regarding the lighting while performing his 2007 hit, “Good Life.”

History of Controversial Statements

West’s return to the stage is occurring after he apologized in late January for previous antisemitic comments. He has a documented history of making such statements, including praising Adolf Hitler, identifying as a Nazi, and utilizing Holocaust imagery. One individual described his actions as “spits in the face of every Jewish person in Los Angeles.”

Upcoming International Performances

Prior to the Los Angeles concerts, West confirmed dates for international performances. These include two concerts in Mexico City in January 2026, as well as shows in China and South Korea in 2024 and 2025.
