Kanye West and North West Share the Stage

Kanye West, 48, included a special performance by his 12-year-old daughter, North West, during his concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 1. Social media footage shows the father-daughter duo performing a duet together.

A Matching Look and Smoke-Filled Stage

West and North walked side-by-side onto the smoke-covered stage, both sporting matching all-black outfits. This performance follows a previous duet with North during a January 30 concert in Mexico City.

Disagreement Over Lighting Design

“Stop Doing That!”

During another song, West paused the performance due to his dissatisfaction with the lighting. “Yo, I don’t like when the lights move like that, like a disco s***. It don’t go with the stage,” West stated in videos circulating on social media. He further requested, “Don’t do that, stop doing that.”

He jokingly questioned if it was a prank, saying, “Is this like an SNL skit or something? Stop doing the vibration Vegas lights, bro.” West then directed the lighting crew to “put the earth up,” indicating his preferred visual.

Co-Parenting and North’s Artistic Growth

West shares four children – North, Saint (10), Chicago (8), and Psalm (6) – with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, 45. The pair separated in 2021 and have been focused on co-parenting.

“I’m a really empathetic person…we’re always family,” Kardashian shared on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast in January. She emphasized the importance of respecting West’s opinions regarding their children and highlighted North’s blossoming creativity.

Kardashian explained, “The music side and the producing isn’t my thing, and that’s her bonding thing with her dad.” She also noted that North’s lyric writing is even incorporated into her spelling tests at home.
