Disneynature has released the first trailer for its latest documentary, Orangutan, set to premiere on Disney+ on April 22nd. The film is narrated by actor Josh Gad and marks the start of Disneynature’s Earth Month celebrations.

Orangutan focuses on Indah, a curious young orangutan, as she ventures out from her nest for the first time. The film chronicles her extraordinary journey as she seeks courage, family, and a sense of belonging.
Exploring the Forests of Borneo and Sumatra
Directed by Mark Linfield and co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz, Orangutan offers viewers an intimate look into the lives of orangutans in their natural habitat. The documentary takes audiences to the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, showcasing the exhilarating action and heartwarming interactions within an orangutan community.
Part of Disney's 'Step into Wonder' Campaign
The global release of Orangutan on Earth Day is part of The Walt Disney Company’s larger “Step into Wonder” campaign. This initiative highlights Disney’s long-standing commitment to nature conservation through entertainment, education, and impactful action.
Conservation Efforts
In conjunction with the film’s release, the Disney Conservation Fund is providing support to Wildlife Asia and the Leuser Conservation Fund. This funding will aid in the protection of Sumatran orangutans, elephants, and tigers across over 5 million acres of forest habitat.
