Details on the Debut Season of 'SNL UK'

Format and Critical Reception

SNL UK premiered earlier this month, featuring indie-rockers Wet Leg and SNL alumna Tina Fey in its first episode. The second week welcomed host Jamie Dornan and a musical performance by Wolf Alice.

The program mirrors many elements of its American counterpart, including an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music, and a British version of the satirical segment, “Weekend Update.” Critics in the U.K. have offered mixed reviews since its launch.

Despite varied initial reception, the first series has been extended, growing from an initial six episodes to eight episodes in total.

Upcoming Schedule and Cast

The show features a cast comprised of rising British comedy talent. This ensemble includes actors such as Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Actor Riz Ahmed is scheduled to host a future episode, and the series continues to feature performances in the Sky studios. Viewers can tune in live on Sky One every Tuesday at 10 p.m. GMT. The episode will be available in the U.S. the following day at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Peacock.
