A Prolonged Health Struggle

The Masked Singer judge Jenny McCarthy recently opened up about a challenging medical ordeal that lasted six months. The 53-year-old star described the experience as a "living hell" during a candid appearance on the Heal Squad podcast with host Maria Menounos.

McCarthy’s health issues began with recurring dental problems, specifically an infected root canal. She explained that she discovered "three of these little toxic pools hiding underneath my wisdom teeth" that repeatedly returned despite treatment.

Unexpected Symptoms and Medical Confusion

Following the dental complications, McCarthy began noticing alarming growths on her eye. She described these as "the nastiest whitehead, pus-filled eraser top," which caused significant concern.

When she initially sought medical advice, she was told she was not cleaning her eyes properly, a diagnosis she strongly disputed. As the infections persisted, she sought further help from her functional medicine doctor to uncover the underlying cause of her deteriorating health.

The Diagnosis: Mycotoxin Poisoning

After a deep investigation into her health history, her doctor identified the culprit: mold and mycotoxin poisoning. The doctor explained that while individuals with strong immune systems can often handle mold, those with existing issues like leaky gut or candida are more susceptible.

McCarthy noted the severity of the situation, stating, "I have a certain mold that causes seizures." She was warned that if the toxins crossed her blood-brain barrier, she faced the risk of hospitalization. Additionally, she discovered that the illness had rendered her resistant to antibiotics, though she has since established a new treatment plan to recover.
