Prime Video Secures Golf Legend for Inaugural Masters Coverage

Amazon Prime Video is set to launch its coverage of the Masters Tournament in 2026, featuring golf icon Jack Nicklaus as a prominent guest host. This debut coincides with the 40th anniversary of Nicklaus's sixth and most celebrated victory at Augusta National.

The streaming service will broadcast an additional two hours of live play during the first and second rounds. This coverage is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10.

Broadcast Structure and Anchor Team

Terry Gannon from NBC and the Golf Channel will anchor the initial telecast window, running from 1–3 p.m. ET. This segment will feature on-course analysis alongside CBS Sports's on-air personnel.

This early coverage will transition into ESPN’s broadcast for the remainder of the first and second rounds, which runs from 3–7:30 p.m. ET.

Rotating Analyst Role Highlighted by Nicklaus

Notably, the lead analyst position next to Gannon will not be permanently filled. Instead, it will feature a rotating group of guest analysts, with Nicklaus being the most significant addition.

As of now, other guest analysts slated to join the broadcast have not been publicly announced.

Nicklaus’s Existing Broadcast Commitments

Jack Nicklaus, who is 86, is already a familiar voice in golf broadcasting. He makes annual guest appearances during his own Memorial Tournament on both CBS and the Golf Channel.

The 18-time major winner also participates in coverage for the Cognizant Classic on NBC.

Dedicated Amen Corner Feed Details

Prime Video’s coverage will also include a specialized feed focused on Amen Corner. This dedicated broadcast will feature Geoff Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open champion.

The Amen Corner team will also include Golf Channel’s Smylie Kaufman and John Wood of NBC Sports. They will be joined by host Justin Kutcher and instructor Michael Breed.

Prime Video’s Growing Sports Portfolio

This marks the first year Prime Video will carry Masters coverage, signaling a major step in its expansion into live sports rights. The platform already holds rights for NFL’s Thursday Night Football.

Prime Video has also secured broadcasting agreements for games across the NBA, WNBA, and NWSL. By securing Nicklaus for their golf entry, the service is aiming for high visibility with golf’s first major championship of the year.
