Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a direct threat against leading American technology corporations, vowing retaliation if further Iranian officials are killed in what Tehran terms 'targeted assassinations.' The warning specifically named major entities such as Apple, Google, and Meta as potential targets for punitive action.
Imminent Retaliation Deadline Set
In a formal statement released on Tuesday, the IRGC declared that these targeted companies should anticipate the destruction of their associated units starting from 8:00 pm Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1st. This timeline was established as a direct response for every subsequent assassination carried out against Iranian figures.
The statement explicitly listed 18 companies alleged to be complicit in the killings of Iranian officials. Furthermore, the IRGC strongly advised employees of these institutions to vacate their workplaces immediately to ensure their personal safety.
Allegations of Complicity in Attacks
The Revolutionary Guard asserted that the US government and these technology giants had disregarded repeated warnings concerning the cessation of operations that target high-ranking Iranian personnel. The IRGC claims these tech firms serve as the 'main element in designing and tracking assassination targets' utilized by adversaries.
The list of 18 companies facing potential retaliation includes major players beyond the initial three mentioned. These firms, accused of actively participating in 'terrorist designs,' also encompass Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, Tesla, Palantir, and Nvidia.
Evacuation Advisory Issued for Regional Sites
While the specific location for the planned actions was not detailed, the warning included a broad advisory for regional safety. Residents situated within a one-kilometer radius of these designated 'terrorist companies' across all countries in the region were urged to evacuate to safer locations.
Context of Escalating Regional Tensions
This threat emerges amid ongoing geopolitical friction, with US President Donald Trump maintaining a diplomatic approach while simultaneously threatening to intensify the US-Israeli campaign against Iran. Several prominent Iranian figures have recently been killed, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and IRGC commander-in-chief Mohammad Pakpour on February 28th, alongside security chief Ali Larijani.
Iran's Counter-Strikes on Israeli Infrastructure
On the same Tuesday the warning was issued, Iran's army announced retaliatory drone strikes against Israel. These strikes reportedly targeted key 'communications, telecommunications and industrial centres' within Israel in response to attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
Specific Israeli targets mentioned included industrial giant Siemens facilities near the main international airport and an AT&T center in Haifa. There has been no immediate official confirmation from Israeli authorities regarding the success or extent of these reported drone hits.
This situation follows earlier incidents in early March where Amazon reported that two of its data centers in the United Arab Emirates sustained direct drone strikes, and a facility in Bahrain was damaged by a nearby attack.
