Gulf Coast Faces Continued Dry Conditions
Scattered rainfall occurred across the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, but the western portions of the forecast area received the most significant moisture. Areas closer to the coast and along the Florida Panhandle largely missed the rain, leaving much of the region still in need of precipitation.
Rain Chances Diminish Through Saturday
Rain chances will decrease substantially over the coming days. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are expected to remain mostly dry, with only a 20% chance of rain each day. Daytime highs will range from 80 to 83°F during this period.
Beachgoers Warned of Dangerous Conditions
A very high rip current risk is currently in effect along Gulf Coast beaches. Rough surf conditions are also anticipated, creating potentially dangerous situations for swimmers and beachgoers through Saturday.
Pollen Levels Remain High
The ongoing dry conditions are contributing to very high pollen counts throughout the region. Individuals with allergies are advised to keep windows closed and consider limiting outdoor activities during peak pollen hours.
Easter Sunday Brings Potential Relief
A weakening front is forecast to move into the area on Easter Sunday morning, bringing a 70% chance of rain. While this rain will be a welcome change after the prolonged dry spell, it may impact outdoor Easter services and events, including Easter egg hunts.
