Could Tom Brady make another NFL comeback? According to his former teammate Rob Gronkowski, it’s not out of the question. In an exclusive interview with Covers, Gronkowski detailed Brady’s continued prowess and potential longevity.

Brady's Potential Return to the NFL

The 48-year-old Brady recently hinted at a possible return to the NFL during a CNBC interview, though his minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders complicates matters. Gronkowski recently shared the field with Brady at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, witnessing firsthand the quarterback’s enduring skill.

“Tom looked incredible,” Gronkowski told Covers. “It looked like he’s never missed a down in his life still to this day, being 48 years old. He's never missed a beat over the last three years he has taken off.”

“He’s a competitor. He’s a performer. He looked like he was 24 years old out there. If he played in the NFL right now –– which I swear he still could –– he’s the only one that could at the age of 48, and he would be a top-10 quarterback.”

Gronkowski Predicts Long-Term Play

Gronkowski, who won four Super Bowls alongside Brady, believes the quarterback could play at a starter level until age 54. “Hypothetically speaking, I would say until 54 years old,” Gronkowski stated. “This guy is just different. He blew my mind.”

He added, “Over the last month, we were training together, and every time I was walking away impressed with his skill-set, his competitiveness, and just how his arm strength, his accuracy is all still there. He might have it for life. He might have it until like 80 years old. I have never seen a come-down with his athletic skills ever. This guy’s just a machine.”

The Secret to Brady's Longevity

Gronkowski attributes Brady’s remarkable condition to a combination of discipline, the TB12 method, and natural talent. “He does everything right,” Gronkowski explained. “I will attribute it to how disciplined he is, his methods as well. They’re wonderful methods, they work great. But on top of all that, he just has it. He was born like that.”

Flag Football and Future Plans

Gronkowski enjoyed the recent flag football event with Brady, describing it as a nostalgic experience reminiscent of their time with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “It was an unbelievable experience,” he said. “You gotta thank Michael Rubin and Tom Brady for putting on a spectacular display.”

However, Gronkowski suffered a hamstring injury during the game and doesn’t anticipate playing again until next year’s flag football classic. “As of right now, I think there is a two-year agreement with the flag football game,” he said. “So I think it’s going to happen again next year.”

Drake Maye and Travis Kelce

Turning to the current NFL landscape, Gronkowski believes New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye needs to focus on reducing turnovers. “When his deep ball is there, his deep ball is really there,” Gronkowski said. “But I would say to protect the ball. He had the ball on the ground a lot.”

He also praised Travis Kelce’s decision to return for a 14th season, highlighting his longevity and dedication to the game. “Travis Kelce coming back, it just proves how great of a player that he is, how he takes care of his body.” Gronkowski believes George Kittle is the best tight end in the game today, praising his all-around abilities.
