Representative Brandon Gill is advocating for substantial changes within the Senate, asserting that electing Ken Paxton is a vital starting point. Gill points to recent legislative failures, including the inability to pass the SAVE America Act and adequately fund the Department of Homeland Security, as evidence of the Senate’s shortcomings.

The Need for a Conservative Warrior

Paxton, according to Gill, is a “battle-hardened conservative” who successfully navigated a politicized impeachment trial. He has consistently supported President Trump, opposed the “Islamization of Texas,” and resisted open border policies. Gill emphasizes Paxton’s readiness to support the President’s agenda in the Senate.

Paxton vs. Cornyn in the Runoff

Paxton is currently in a primary runoff against four-term incumbent John Cornyn, who benefits from significant financial backing. However, Gill believes Texas voters are “starving for change” and desire a Senator who will aggressively fight against the Left.

The SAVE America Act and the Filibuster

Gill highlights Paxton’s leadership on the SAVE America Act, noting that it was Paxton who pushed for the use of a “talking filibuster” to ensure its passage – a tactic Senator Cornyn was initially hesitant to employ. He argues this demonstrates Paxton’s commitment to fighting for key Republican priorities.

Amnesty Concerns and Cornyn’s Record

A central point of contention is the issue of amnesty for illegal immigrants. Gill warns that amnesty would be a “catastrophic and unforgivable political betrayal” and would fracture the Republican Party. He points to Senator Cornyn’s long history of supporting amnesty measures, citing a 2004 bill that would have provided amnesty to millions and a 2016 criticism of President Trump’s border wall.

Cornyn reportedly dismissed those advocating for a border wall as “extremists.” In a recent interview, Cornyn indicated continued support for similar amnesty proposals.

Immigration and National Security

Gill also raises concerns about Senator Cornyn’s support for mass migration, specifically his efforts to expedite the importation of Afghan refugees. He references a 2021 letter Cornyn signed urging President Biden to waive paperwork requirements for Afghan refugees and his sponsorship of legislation waiving medical requirements for Afghan immigrants.

Gill argues that such policies are unsustainable and contribute to the “Islamization of Texas.” He stresses the importance of securing borders and prioritizing the interests of American citizens.

A Call for Action

Gill concludes by urging Texans to elect Ken Paxton, stating it is the “single greatest opportunity” to send a message that they will not tolerate anything less than a strong, conservative Senator. He will be voting for Paxton in the runoff election and encourages others to do the same.
