A comprehensive retrospective celebrating the life and work of iconic fashion designer Gianni Versace is set to open in Paris.

Versace Exhibition at Musée Maillol

The Musée Maillol will host the exhibition from June 5 to September 6, 2024. It will showcase approximately 450 artifacts, offering a deep dive into Versace’s creative process and lasting legacy.

A Look Inside the Retrospective

The retrospective will feature a diverse collection of items, including fashions, accessories, sketches, photographs, and decorative objects. Rare video interviews will also be included, providing insight into the designer’s life and career.

The exhibition explores Versace’s early life in Calabria and the various influences that shaped his design aesthetic. It also contextualizes his work within the broader social landscape, including the emergence of supermodels and his collaborations with music icons.

Independent Exhibition

The museum clarified that the retrospective was initiated by Berlin-based Dreamrealizer. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Gianni Versace Srl company or the Versace family.

Musée Maillol's Recent Exhibitions

Established in 1995 to honor sculptor Aristide Maillol, the museum has recently featured exhibitions dedicated to photographers Robert Doisneau, Andres Serrano, Steve McCurry, and Elliott Erwitt. It has also showcased the work of artists Nadia Léger, Chéri Samba, and Mykola Tolmachev, as well as set designs for La Galerie de Dior and renovations for the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation.
