Philadelphia Flyers forward Tyson Foerster will return to the lineup on Thursday after missing the last 49 games with an upper-body injury.
Foerster's Injury and Recovery
The 24-year-old winger has not played since December 1, when he suffered an arm/shoulder injury during a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He sustained the injury while taking a one-timer shot.
Foerster underwent surgery on December 15 to repair the injury. Initially, his recovery timeline suggested he might miss the entire regular season.
Return to Practice and Anticipation
However, Foerster made significant progress and returned to practice on March 17. Flyers General Manager Danny Brière noted Foerster’s eagerness to return, joking that the winger would be “banging down his door” to play before the season’s end.
Pre-Injury Performance
Prior to the injury, Foerster was a key offensive player for the Flyers, leading the team with 10 goals and adding 3 assists in 21 games. He frequently played alongside Travis Konecny, who was later traded to the Minnesota Wild.
Lineup for Thursday
At morning skate on Thursday, Foerster was positioned on the left wing, preparing for his highly anticipated return to game action.
