Investigation Details and Community Concerns
Factors Under Review
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident as vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Initial findings suggest that reckless driving, combined with the use of alcohol and drugs, may have contributed to the crash.
Toxicology results related to the driver are still pending at this time.
Neighbor Recounts Dangerous Intersection
Ivan Winkler, a neighbor who heard the commotion, commented on the severity of the situation. He noted that the outcome could have been worse if other vehicles had been involved.
Winkler described the crash site as a dangerous intersection, emphasizing that “It’s a blind hill.” He added that while the speed limit is set at 25 miles per hour, residents frequently hear vehicles traveling much faster through the area.
Call for Witnesses
Investigators are actively seeking any witnesses, information, or video footage of the vehicle in the area prior to the accident. The public is urged to contact Deputy Rob Corn if they have relevant details to share.
