Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a severe multi-vehicle accident that occurred in Anaheim during the early hours of Tuesday morning, March 31, 2026. One of the deceased was confirmed to be an innocent driver caught in the collision.
Details of the Early Morning Collision
The crash took place shortly before 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue. Authorities are currently working to reconstruct the sequence of events to establish precisely what led to the fatal incident.
Police Observation Preceding the Crash
Sergeant Matt Sutter reported that an officer initially observed a silver Infiniti sedan driving erratically near Cypress Street and Harbor Boulevard, just blocks away from the eventual crash site. Officers attempted to initiate a stop, but the driver turned off the lights and tried to flee the area.
Sutter clarified that the officers never engaged in an active pursuit of the vehicle. A witness, identified as Antonio Castaneda, stated he saw police near the vehicle moments before hearing the loud impact of the collision.
The Fatal Impact
According to Sergeant Sutter, only moments after the police lost sight of the fleeing sedan, it collided with three other automobiles at the nearby intersection. The silver Infiniti was involved in the primary impact.
Victims Identified and Injuries Reported
Of the two fatalities, one was the front right passenger inside the silver Infiniti. Three other occupants of that same vehicle sustained critical injuries and were transported for urgent medical care.
The second fatality was the driver of a red Toyota Camry, described only as an adult male, who was an innocent motorist at the scene. The investigation into the cause remains ongoing.
It has not yet been determined whether alcohol or drug impairment played a role in the circumstances leading to the deadly crash.
