Tragic Multi-Car Collision Rocks Anaheim Intersection

Two individuals were killed and several others sustained critical injuries following a devastating multi-car crash that occurred in Anaheim early Tuesday morning. The incident unfolded just before 1 a.m. at the heavily trafficked intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard.

Anaheim police detailed the sequence of events, noting that the chain reaction began around 12:45 a.m. An officer observed a silver Infiniti driving erratically near Harbor Boulevard and Cypress Street.

Erratic Driving Precedes Fatal Impact

Investigators stated that the driver of the Infiniti subsequently turned off the vehicle’s lights and accelerated away from the area. Authorities were quick to emphasize that police officers never activated their emergency lights and were not engaged in a pursuit at the time.

Shortly thereafter, the silver Infiniti disregarded a red signal at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard. This action caused a collision with several other vehicles, including a blue Honda Accord, a red Toyota Camry, and a white Cadillac Escalade.

Casualties and Investigation Details

A total of seven people were involved in the four-vehicle accident. Tragically, one passenger inside the Infiniti was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the red Toyota Camry was also confirmed by police to have died at the scene. The three remaining occupants of the Infiniti, which included two teenage girls in the rear seat, suffered critical injuries and were rushed to local hospitals.

Scene Clearance and Witness Accounts

Traffic investigators spent several hours reconstructing the crash dynamics, marking evidence, and taking necessary measurements at the site. Authorities confirmed that traffic cameras captured the precise moment the Infiniti failed to stop for the red light.

While one witness claimed to have seen police following the suspect's vehicle just prior to the collision, Anaheim police reiterated that officers were not pursuing the car and merely witnessed the resulting impact.

The intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Anaheim Boulevard was fully reopened to traffic shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, concluding the immediate investigation phase.
