Celebrating Oscar Success
Sinners, set in 1932 Mississippi and described as a “Southern Gothic thriller” and “wholly original exploration of Black culture and Blues music,” secured four Academy Awards on March 15, 2026. The film’s success was highlighted by Michael B. Jordan winning Best Actor for his dual portrayal of twin brothers, Stack and Smoke.
The exhibit showcases the elements that earned the film multiple nominations. These categories included Costume Design, Production Design, and Hair and Makeup Design.
Costumes and Character Highlights
Visitors can view authentic costumes worn by the film’s main cast members. On display are outfits worn by Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan, as well as Wunmi Mosaku (Annie), Delroy Lindo (Delta Slim), Omar Miller (Cornbread), and Hailee Steinfeld (Mary).
A dedicated section transports guests to the film’s settings of Club Juke and Clarksville, Mississippi. This area features original props, such as the chair used by the Sammie Moore character, a guitar, and a concert poster for Sammie Moore.
Behind-the-Scenes Transformation
For enthusiasts interested in the film’s transformation effects, a display case holds prosthetics used on the Cornbread character. This includes fangs and a headpiece illustrating the character’s vampire metamorphosis.
The presentation is rounded out with artwork, production photos, and video clips from Sinners serving as a visual backdrop to the displayed artifacts. The 98th Academy Awards ceremony, which honored these achievements, also featured memorable moments, including host Conan O'Brien's commentary.
