Expired Milk Causes Illness at Vale Middle School
Eleven students at Vale Middle School in San Antonio, Texas, were sent to the school nurse on Wednesday after experiencing illness potentially linked to expired milk. The Northside Independent School District (NISD) is currently investigating the incident.
District Statement and Investigation
According to a statement released by the district, Vale Middle School and NISD Child Nutrition staff are looking into how the expired milk was served to students. “The campus nurse has evaluated a total of eleven students today who reported feeling unwell or became ill,” the statement read. No other reports of illness related to the milk have been recorded this week.
Limited Impact
The district clarified that the issue was limited to a portion of the school’s milk supply, not the entire inventory. No other schools within the Northside Independent School District were affected by the incident.
