New aerial images have revealed the damage done to Nicolas Cage's Malibu home after a massive sinkhole appeared in front of the property. The beachfront mansion, which was already undergoing renovations at the time of the natural disaster, has undergone significant changes. Sinkhole Damage at Malibu MansionPhotos taken after the incident show the property sectioned off from the streets, with its tiled patio removed and only remnants of the surface left behind. Dirt-covered planks, which appear to be part of the patio's foundation, are visible along the exposed bluff. Firefighters discovered the property's collapsed driveway in early September, alongside a 30ft by 30ft sinkhole that swallowed up a fence, a portable restroom, and a portion of the adjacent street. The home, purchased by Cage for $10.5 million in 2024, now bears little resemblance to the luxurious property it once was. Although it's unclear whether the removal of the patio was in response to the damage or plans were already in place, aerial images show the aftermath of the destructive sinkhole. Located in a prime oceanfront setting, the home features a rooftop deck with a jacuzzi, soaring glass walls, multiple bedrooms, and a private beach accessible only to the residence.A highly prized property with a rich history, the home was built in the 1990s by the late Jose Liberman, co-founder of Liberman Broadcasting, and remained in his family until it was sold to Cage. The home even provided an isolated beach experience and chef's kitchen, further highlighting the extensive amenities the property has to offer.
