Elisabetta Tai Ferretto, a former Italian model and accuser of Jeffrey Epstein, has gone missing in New York City. Her family reported her disappearance to prosecutors in Rovigo, Italy, prompting involvement from Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Disappearance and Investigation

Ferretto, 50, originally from Montagnana in northern Italy, was last heard from on April 22nd after returning to the United States. She had recently traveled to the Veneto region of Italy to visit family earlier in April.

Upon her return to Manhattan, Ferretto abruptly ceased her regular contact with her family. Phone calls are going unanswered, and her social media profiles appear to have been deactivated or deleted.

Background and Epstein Accusations

Ferretto has resided in New York since 2001 and worked in both the fashion and New York real estate industries. She publicly came forward in 2019 with allegations of sexual misconduct against Jeffrey Epstein.

Ferretto stated she was introduced to Epstein through her agent, who claimed he could assist her in securing work with prominent brands, including Victoria’s Secret. She described being led to believe a meeting with Epstein would advance her modeling career.

According to Ferretto, she was greeted by Ghislaine Maxwell at Epstein’s Manhattan home and taken to his office. She alleges Epstein did not review her portfolio but instead engaged in inappropriate behavior, which she rejected and subsequently fled.

Current Status

American officials are currently investigating Ferretto’s disappearance, but she remains missing. Her family emphasizes that the sudden silence is highly unusual and concerning.

Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. No confirmed sightings or official explanation for Ferretto’s disappearance have been released.
