Ella Langley has released the music video for her single, “Choosin’ Texas,” bringing the song’s narrative to life with a star-studded cast.
A Cinematic Story of Hometown Heartache
The video, revealed on Wednesday, was filmed at the Stagecoach Ballroom in Fort Worth, Texas. It centers around a couple, played by Langley and Josh Grimes, on a journey toward Abilene, Texas.
Key Scenes and Plot Points
The video opens with a conversation between Langley and Grimes, where she asks, “You ever wish you didn’t leave Texas?” Grimes responds, “sometimes,” adding, “then I wouldn’t have met you.” As they enter Grimes’ former haunts, a story of past relationships begins to unfold.
The narrative takes a turn when Grimes encounters his former Texas flame. Langley’s friend cautions her that “Texas has a way of keeping what’s hers.”
Star-Studded Cameos and a Dramatic Conclusion
Realizing Grimes is choosing his hometown over her, a heartbroken Langley departs for Tennessee. She hitches a ride with Miranda Lambert, who portrays the frontwoman of a band.
The video also includes cameos from a variety of country music personalities, including Dale Brisby, JB Mauney, Shad Mayfield, Tyson Durfey, Shea Fisher Durfey, Leighton Berry, Casey Donahew, Tanner Usrey, Wade Bowen, Mike Ryan, Melinda Donahew, and members of the Texas A&M’s Aggie Wranglers dance team.
Langley is currently preparing for performances at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium from June 4 through 7.
