The Atlanta Falcons are bolstering their front office with a key addition from the Philadelphia Eagles. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that the Falcons are hiring Eagles vice president of football operations, Jeff Scott, as their assistant general manager.

Eagles Front Office Changes

Scott has been with the Eagles organization for the past five years. He was recently promoted to VP of football operations for the 2024 season, having previously served as director of football operations.

Scott's Extensive NFL Experience

Jeff Scott brings 14 years of NFL experience to his new role with the Falcons. His background includes both scouting and football operations, demonstrating a versatile skillset.

Falcons Rebuilding Front Office

This hiring marks the second significant addition to the Falcons’ front office this offseason. Earlier, the team appointed former Eagles’ scouting department member Ian Cunningham as their general manager.

Prior Roles and Background

Notably, Cunningham and Scott did not work together during their time in Philadelphia. Before joining the Eagles, Scott spent nine seasons with the Washington Commanders, most recently as director of pro scouting/advance coordinator. He began his NFL career with Washington in 2012 as a salary cap intern, holding several positions during his tenure.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie recently addressed reporters at the NFL’s Annual League Meetings, discussing the team’s outlook for both the short and long term. The departure of Scott represents a change within the Eagles’ organization as they continue to build their team.
