A former OnlyFans model has shared a disturbing account of an alleged assault in Dubai, claiming authorities attempted a cover-up and she continues to receive threats from her attackers. The case highlights a potentially dangerous side to the city’s glamorous reputation, raising concerns for expatriates and victims of abuse.

Harrowing Account of Assault

Maria Kovalchuk, a Ukrainian national, asserts she was attacked in Dubai last March and discovered unconscious on a roadside with significant injuries. Emirati authorities initially stated she fell from a construction site, a claim Kovalchuk strongly denies. She states she will never return to Dubai, describing it as a 'very dark place'.

The Night of the Attack

Kovalchuk’s ordeal began with a trip to Dubai for a photoshoot. After missing her flight home, she accepted help from a man she had recently met, which led her to a hotel room shared with two men – a Russian and a Belarusian – and two women. The initial atmosphere was reportedly normal, focused on her travel arrangements.

However, the situation quickly escalated when the group introduced alcohol and narcotics, substances illegal in Dubai. Kovalchuk refused to participate, which she alleges triggered aggressive behavior from the group, who she claims intended to incapacitate her for sexual exploitation. She felt she was treated as an object, with the men attempting to control her.

Escalation and Injuries

Kovalchuk alleges her personal belongings, including her passport and phone, were taken. A physical altercation followed, including a slap to the face and the theft of her clothing. She attempted to escape multiple times, including screaming for help from a balcony, but was prevented from leaving.

After a second escape attempt, Kovalchuk recalls being struck on the head and briefly reaching for a taxi before losing consciousness. She awoke eight days later in a hospital, bedridden and disoriented, with her hands tied to the bed.

Medical Reports and Aftermath

Medical reports detailed the severity of her injuries: a shattered vertebra, multiple fractures to her limbs, a broken wrist, and severe trauma to her head and feet, including an open fracture. Kovalchuk claims authorities discredited her account and hindered her ability to leave the country during the four-month investigation.

The psychological impact of the experience was profound, leaving her unable to recognize her mother during a video call. She now lives in Norway, working as a makeup artist, but continues to live with the trauma and fear from her time in Dubai.
