A Ukrainian model has shared a harrowing account of being assaulted in Dubai, alleging a subsequent cover-up by local authorities and ongoing threats from her attackers. The story exposes a disturbing reality beneath the city’s luxurious exterior.

A Harrowing Ordeal in Dubai

Maria Kovalchuk, a former OnlyFans model from Ukraine, states she will never return to Dubai, describing it as a ‘very dark place.’ She alleges the city conceals a disturbing reality despite its gleaming facade.

The Assault and Initial Claims

Kovalchuk asserts she was assaulted in March of last year and discovered unconscious on a roadside, suffering severe injuries. These included multiple fractures to her limbs, a shattered vertebra, and extensive head trauma. Emirati authorities initially reported she had fallen from a construction site, a claim Kovalchuk strongly denies.

Events Leading to the Attack

In her first detailed interview with a Western news outlet, Kovalchuk explained she traveled to Dubai for a photoshoot. After missing her flight home, she accepted help from a man she had recently met. This led her to a hotel room with two men – a Russian and a Belarusian – and two women.

Escalation and Alleged Abuse

The situation quickly deteriorated as the group consumed alcohol and narcotics, allegedly pressuring Kovalchuk to join them. When she refused, she claims their behavior became aggressive, with attempts to force her to drink and take substances. Kovalchuk alleges she was treated as an object, subjected to verbal abuse, and physically assaulted, including being slapped and having her clothes stolen.

Attempts to Escape and Loss of Consciousness

Kovalchuk attempted to escape twice, screaming for help from a balcony before being forcibly returned to the room. Her last memory before losing consciousness was a blow to the head. She briefly recalls calling a taxi before blacking out and waking up in a hospital.

Aftermath and Alleged Cover-Up

Following an eight-day coma, Kovalchuk claims she awoke to find her hands tied to the bed and struggled to regain her memory. She alleges Dubai authorities actively worked to discredit her story and prevented her from leaving the country for four months during an investigation.

Ongoing Trauma and Threats

Medical reports confirm the severity of her injuries, detailing a shattered vertebra, fractured limbs, and extensive head and foot trauma. Kovalchuk now lives in Norway, working as a makeup artist, and continues to receive death threats from her alleged attackers, who remain at large. She describes the experience as profoundly traumatic and warns others about the hidden dangers in Dubai.

Kovalchuk believes the authorities prioritized protecting the city’s image over seeking justice for her assault.
