Miami Dolphins 2026 Draft: Targeting Tight Ends
The Miami Dolphins are preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft with a total of 11 picks. This series from Miami Dolphins on SI examines potential prospects by position, focusing on how new General Manager Jon-Eric Sullivan might address roster needs.
Tight End Priorities for Miami
Tight end is a position where the 2026 draft class doesn't boast a wealth of top-tier talent, but offers intriguing options in the middle rounds. Offensive Coordinator Bobby Slowik’s plans for the fullback/tight end role will influence the team’s strategy.
Round 1 (Thursday, April 23)
Kenyon Sadiq, Oregon is considered the sole tight end worthy of a first-round selection. While Sadiq may be unavailable by the Dolphins’ pick at number 30, his athletic profile could make him a consideration if Miami prioritizes the best player available. He recorded good numbers last season (around 8 touchdowns), but his exceptional testing numbers are particularly noteworthy.
Rounds 2-3 (Friday, April 24)
Issac Delp, Georgia developed into a viable receiving option during his four years at Georgia. While blocking isn’t his strongest suit, it isn’t a significant weakness either. Delp showcased impressive athleticism at the combine and his pro day, despite recovering from a foot fracture.
Rounds 5-7 (Saturday, April 25)
Marlin Klein, Michigan is an intriguing prospect offering excellent value. At 6-6 and 248 pounds, Klein excels as a run blocker, both inline and in space. He demonstrated versatility at Michigan, sometimes used as a blocker for receivers in stack formations.
Additional Prospect
Greg Creese is another potential tight end target.
