Fatal Incident in Chester, Pennsylvania

A man believed to be responsible for the deaths of two individuals was fatally shot by police early Wednesday morning in Chester, Pennsylvania. The incident unfolded in the 900 block of Barclay Street, located near Chester High School.

Initial 911 Calls & Police Response

Around midnight, 911 dispatchers received multiple calls reporting a man armed with a knife and a gun attempting to harm people inside a residence. According to the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, officers arrived on the scene to find the suspect actively stabbing a woman.

Suspect Shot After Ignoring Commands

The suspect disregarded police commands to stop and continued the assault. A responding officer then discharged their firearm, striking the suspect. The District Attorney’s Office confirmed these details in a statement.

Earlier Shooting Discovered

Following the shooting, investigators learned from witnesses that the same suspect had previously shot a man inside the home. The sequence of events is still under investigation.

Surveillance Footage Details

Surveillance video obtained by Action News showed the suspect behaving erratically before police arrived. Footage depicted the man jumping on top of multiple vehicles in the neighborhood. Another video, recorded around 1 a.m., captured officers instructing the suspect to surrender with his hands raised.

Investigation Underway

The names of the victims and the suspect have not yet been released by authorities. The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the homicides, while the Special Investigations Unit is handling the police-involved shooting.
