“Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God shared his unexpected experience with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at an airport, noting their efficiency and friendly demeanor.
Unexpected Efficiency at LaGuardia
Charlamagne recounted his experience flying out of LaGuardia Airport on Friday, stating he observed ICE agents effectively handling tasks typically performed by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents. He noted the absence of visible TSA personnel during his travel.
Comparing Service to Chick-fil-A
“When I flew out of LaGuardia Friday, I ain’t see no TSA agents. ICE was doing everything,” Charlamagne said. He described the ICE agents as being “extra nice,” even comparing their service to that of Chick-fil-A employees, known for their exceptional customer service. “They were being super nice, like Chick-fil-A workers,” he added.
Government Shutdown and Staffing Issues
The situation stems from complications following a recent government shutdown. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA officers impacted by the shutdown. While paychecks have begun to be distributed, ICE agents have been assisting to fill staffing gaps.
Speculation of a 'Psy-Op'
Despite previously criticizing ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Charlamagne found the agents’ professionalism surprising. He questioned whether the positive interactions were intentional, suggesting a possible “psy-op” aimed at influencing public opinion before the midterms.
Concerns About Public Perception
“I think it’s a psy-op for the midterms, right?” Charlamagne stated. He theorized that presenting ICE agents as helpful and efficient at airports could make it easier to deploy them at polling places in November without raising concerns.
Fox News Digital reached out to ICE for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
