Feminism Pitted Women Against MenThompson told Fox News Digital that feminists pitted women against men and against having children. Thompson said the feminists pitted women against men, they pitted us against having children, and it belittled who we were in the home and as mothers. She added that it belittled who women were in a marriage. Thompson attended the University of North Carolina in the 1960s.She said learning about feminism while in college helped lead her away from the values she had been raised with. Those values did not seem to answer the questions she was asking, she said.Then she heard about feminism, which was in the culture at the time. It sounded good because it was about equality, Thompson said. She described a traumatic experience between her junior and senior year, when she had a miscarriage in the college dorm. Instead of going to her parents or going back to God, she just went right on with what she had been doing.Looking back, she sees that was when her life began to go really downhill from there. Candy Thompson said she had three abortions and experienced a miscarriage. Decades later, the octogenarian is recognizing the lives of the children she lost with acknowledgment-of-life certificates. After the miscarriage, Thompson said she married the first man she dated.Marriage Endings And AbortionsThe marriage ended in divorce, and Thompson said she had three abortions during that relationship. She now recognizes those pregnancies with acknowledgment-of-life certificates. There were lots of effects like anger, Thompson said. She did not understand as a young woman what her actual created purpose was, and those things were not really clear until later.Thompson said feminism pitted women against men, children and God. She linked her embrace of feminism to the decisions she made before returning to her Christian faith. We have young people from the colleges into our homes and they are hungry, Thompson continued. They are hungry to know who they really are and they want to be married.They want to have this love, but they do not trust men, Thompson said, and they are having their hearts broken and hurt because we are made in that way of wanting to have a lifetime relationship. They are wanting this in their spirits, but they do not know how to get it because nobody is telling them. These women are lost, she added. Thompson is now urging women to question the beliefs she once held.Her book, Feminine, Not Feminist, presents her argument that the ideology she embraced broke her and failed to deliver on its promises of equality and fulfillment.
