Human Technopole Seeks Postdoctoral Researcher in Cancer Genomics
Human Technopole, a rapidly expanding life science institute in Milan, Italy, is offering a postdoctoral position focused on groundbreaking cancer research. The institute brings together international researchers and cutting-edge technologies to accelerate biomedical discovery and translate scientific ideas into improvements in human health.
Project Focus: AI-Driven Target Discovery
Synthetic Lethality Prediction
This position will involve a new project at the intersection of artificial intelligence, multi-omics data integration, and functional genomics. The primary goal is to predict synthetic lethality in cancer, utilizing techniques like representation learning, nonlinear embeddings, and predictive modeling of genetic interactions. This work will guide the design of next-generation genetic interaction screens for anti-cancer target discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze CRISPR screening data, multi-omics data, and genetic interactions.
- Enhance scientific skills through biology-driven experiments, including CRISPR, Perturb-seq, single-cell transcriptomics, and spatial-omics screens.
- Drive scientific output and increase research visibility.
- Collaborate with wet-lab scientists, technicians, and experimental facilities.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field, or be in the final stages of Ph.D. completion. A solid research background, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals, is essential.
Technical Skills
Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, with experience in version control, are required. Familiarity with CRISPR-Cas9 or CRISPRi/a screening data, RNA-seq, single-cell or spatial transcriptomics data processing is also necessary. Competence in handling and analyzing large, complex datasets – including multi-omics and perturbation-response data – with a focus on data quality and reproducibility is crucial.
Benefits and Compensation
Human Technopole offers an international and dynamic workplace with competitive welfare provisions, flexible working policies, and relocation support. Researchers relocating to Italy may be eligible for attractive tax benefits. The institute promotes work-life balance and provides parental support initiatives.
The salary for this position is up to €43,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s seniority. Human Technopole strongly encourages applications from candidates belonging to protected categories.
