Police Investigation Leads to Arrest

Authorities in Keene have arrested 31-year-old Brandon Vanscoy on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child. The investigation was initiated this past Thursday after a parent filed a report regarding an alleged incident involving a juvenile.

The child was interviewed by forensic specialists at the Johnson County Children’s Advocacy Center. According to police, the interview and subsequent investigative efforts provided sufficient probable cause to arrest Vanscoy for the offense, which allegedly occurred on March 22.

Affiliation with Burleson Youth Association

Records indicate that Vanscoy served as a baseball coach for the Burleson Youth Association (BYA). Following the arrest, the organization issued a statement on its Facebook page confirming the removal of a volunteer coach charged with a serious crime involving a minor.

The organization stated that the individual is no longer affiliated with the BYA in any capacity. The association has taken immediate steps to distance itself from the accused coach following the news of his arrest.

Status of the Case

Vanscoy is currently being held in the Johnson County jail. Law enforcement officials have not disclosed specific details regarding the case, including the age of the victim or the nature of the relationship between the coach and the child.

It remains unclear if the victim was a member of any team coached by Vanscoy. Keene police have stated they will not release further information at this time to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
