Burger King has announced an ambitious plan to significantly expand its workforce. The global fast-food chain intends to hire 60,000 new employees across its network of 6,500 restaurants.

This large-scale hiring initiative is a central component of the company's broader strategy to modernize operations and enhance the overall guest experience.

Strong Financial Performance and Corporate Growth

Success of Restaurant Brands International

The announcement follows a period of positive financial momentum for the company's parent organization, Restaurant Brands International (RBI). This year, RBI has seen its stock value climb by 13 percent.

In addition to Burger King, the RBI portfolio includes several well-known brands: Tim Hortons, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs.

Rising Sales and Performance

Burger King's commitment to operational refinement is reflected in its recent financial data. The company reported a 1.6 percent increase in comparable sales during fiscal year 2025.

Modernizing the Dining Experience

Store Renovations and Profitability

A primary driver behind the hiring surge is Burger King's investment in revitalizing its physical locations. The company is focused on streamlining operations, enhancing store design, improving workflows, and reducing wait times through updated technology.

Stores that have already undergone modernization have seen an average increase in profitability of approximately $50,000.

The 2026 Modernization Goal

Burger King aims to have 85 percent of its locations fully modernized by 2026. The company noted, however, that rising costs could potentially affect the timeline for completing these upgrades.

A Focus on Workforce and Service

Tom Curtis, President of Burger King U.S. and Canada, underscored the importance of people to the brand's transformation. "We have focused on strengthening operations, modernizing our restaurants, and attentively listening to our guests — efforts that have begun to pay off," said Curtis.

Curtis emphasized the need to bring on passionate, hardworking, and genuinely friendly team members to sustain the company's momentum and ensure guest satisfaction.

The recruitment campaign will cover a broad spectrum of roles, ranging from part-time and entry-level positions to management opportunities across the company's 6,500 locations.
