Bulls Waive Jaden Ivey After Short Tenure
The Chicago Bulls made a surprising roster move, releasing guard Jaden Ivey for conduct detrimental to the team. The decision comes just under two months after acquiring Ivey from the Detroit Pistons on February 3rd, 2026, in a three-team deal also involving the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Ivey's Recent Performance and Injuries
Ivey’s NBA career has experienced fluctuations in performance. During the 2024-2025 season, he showcased promising development before suffering a season-ending broken left fibula in January. He averaged career-highs of 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 40.9% from three-point range.
Injury Setbacks
Upon returning this season, Ivey’s performance didn’t reach the same level. He appeared in only four games for the Bulls before being sidelined with a season-ending knee injury. In those games, he averaged 11.5 points per game and shot 38.1% from beyond the arc.
Fantasy Implications for Bulls Players
Ivey’s release is expected to provide a slight boost to the fantasy value of some Chicago Bulls players for the remainder of the season and potentially into the 2026-2027 season.
Tre Jones' Potential
Guard Tre Jones is poised to benefit from increased opportunities. He has been playing exceptionally well in March, averaging 17.2 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game. Jones has averaged 21 points in his last three games.
Collin Sexton's Rising Production
Another Bull who could see increased production is Collin Sexton, acquired mid-season from the Charlotte Hornets. Sexton is also having a strong March, averaging 21.1 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 rebounds. He has started in nine of his 11 games this month and could be a valuable scoring option off the bench next season.
