The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Orlando, Florida, during the 2027 NFL season. This game will technically be considered a road game for the Buccaneers, offering their Orlando-based fans a closer opportunity to see their team play.
Jacksonville's Stadium Renovations Drive the Change
The Jacksonville Jaguars are planning extensive renovations to EverBank Stadium, aiming to transform it into what they’ve dubbed the “Stadium of the Future” by 2028. These renovations will necessitate a temporary relocation for some games.
2027 Game at Camping World Stadium
With EverBank Stadium undergoing changes, the Jaguars will play at a limited-capacity EverBank Stadium in 2026. All 32 NFL owners unanimously approved the Jaguars playing their 2027 home games at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. This arrangement directly leads to the Buccaneers-Jaguars matchup being scheduled for Orlando.
Potential for an International Game
Currently, the Buccaneers are scheduled to play the Jaguars in Orlando in 2027. However, this plan is contingent on the NFL schedule. The Jaguars frequently play games in London, sometimes hosting multiple international games per season.
If the NFL decides to schedule the Buccaneers-Jaguars game as an international contest, it would be moved to London, disappointing fans in the Orlando area. The possibility of other teams, like the Detroit Lions or Atlanta Falcons, hosting the Buccaneers internationally could also influence the decision.
For now, the Buccaneers are focused on preparing for the 2026 season following a challenging finish to the previous year. Orlando Buccaneers fans will have the opportunity to see their team play an official NFL game at Camping World Stadium, a change from previous appearances at the Pro Bowl Games or training camp at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.
