Record-Breaking Finale for Jonathan Groff
The musical Just In Time, which depicts the life of singer Bobby Darrin, achieved a significant milestone last week. The production grossed over $2 million, marking its highest tally to date as Jonathan Groff concluded his run on March 29.
The show had been trending upward for several weeks as fans secured tickets before Groff's departure. This surge culminated in an average ticket price of $362.22. Dedicated fans were observed camping outside the Circle in the Square theater in hopes of obtaining rush tickets.
Transitioning Cast and Future Outlook
Following Groff's exit, the production will feature guest stars, including Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, starting April 1. Jeremy Jordan is scheduled to take over the lead role beginning April 21. It remains to be seen if the new casting will maintain the same level of box office success.
