Brittany Cartwright Updates on Coparenting with Jax Taylor

The Valley star Brittany Cartwright shared insights into her coparenting relationship with her estranged husband, Jax Taylor. Cartwright revealed they are actively working to improve their arrangement for the sake of their son, Cruz.

Improving the Coparenting Dynamic

“We’re working on the coparenting situation. We’re trying to make it better,” Brittany, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, March 30, while promoting season 3 of Bravo’s The Valley. “It’s not easy.” She acknowledged the challenges but noted progress, stating, “There’s just so many different things that go into it where it’s not the best, but it is better than it was two years ago. That’s a plus.”

Divorce and Custody Details

Brittany and Jax, 46, welcomed son Cruz in April 2021, nearly three years before their separation. Brittany filed for divorce in August 2024 and currently has primary custody of their 4-year-old son, with Jax receiving biweekly visitation. The divorce has not yet been finalized.

Divorce Timeline

“We’re working on getting the house appraised,” Brittany shared, expressing hope to “get another date set” for finalization after the appraisal is complete. “Everything should be good to go after that.” She emphasized her connection to their home, stating, “That’s my house. I already moved Cruz around for seven months. He loves that place. I love that house.”

Season 3 of 'The Valley'

Cartwright also discussed the upcoming season of The Valley, hinting at a lighter tone. “I think was very dark because there was a certain someone who was there, and now he is not on season three,” she teased. “It is already a lot lighter, just because of that. I think that, obviously, there’s still gonna be drama, but there’s so much more lightness and fun and funny things that we get to do.”

New Cast Members

In addition to Brittany, The Valley stars Kristen Doute, Luke Broderick, Jesse Lally, Michelle Saniei, Danny Booko, Nia Sanchez, Jason Caperna, Janet Caperna, Zack Wickham and Jasmine Goode. Former Vanderpump Rules costars Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz will join the cast full-time for season 3.

“I just think it’s awesome to have Lala and Schwartz on full-time because they have a new perspective,” Brittany said. “They’ve been around us, but they haven’t been around the group as much all together. They see some things that they had never witnessed before, so I think that’s a pretty cool thing.”

The Valley season 3 premieres on Bravo Wednesday, April 1, at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
