Actor William Daniels, widely recognized for his role as the wise educator George Feeny on the 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World, is celebrating a major milestone: his 99th birthday.

Daniels, who resides in Los Angeles, confirmed to TODAY.com that his birthday falls on March 31st. He plans to celebrate the occasion surrounded by his family.

He will be joined by his wife of 75 years, Bonnie, who is 96, alongside their sons Michael, 62, and Robert, 60, and their respective families. Daniels noted that Michael will be preparing the birthday meal.

A Career Spanning Decades

Daniels has enjoyed a long and varied career in entertainment. Beyond his iconic role on Boy Meets World, he earned an Emmy for portraying Dr. Mark Craig on St. Elsewhere.

He also famously provided the voice for KITT, the advanced vehicle driven by David Hasselhoff in the series Knight Rider. Daniels mentioned he was still working on Boy Meets World until he reached the age of 73.

William Daniels' Four Pillars for a Fulfilling Life

Much like his character Mr. Feeny offered guidance to students, Daniels shared four key principles he follows to maintain health and happiness.

1. Embrace Gratitude and Purpose

At the forefront of his advice is maintaining a strong sense of gratitude. Daniels stated, "I think the most important thing you should know is that I am very lucky."

He credits his ability to remain active and maintain a sense of purpose as crucial to his well-being. Furthermore, he emphasized the joy derived from his family, joking that his "wonderful wife, Bonnie, who has put up with me for 75 years" keeps him engaged.

Daniels also enjoys connecting with fans, having recently attended both San Diego Rocket Con 2026 and Pasadena Comic Con 2026. He is also available to fans via Cameo.

2. Prioritize Consistent Exercise

For physical fitness, Daniels recommended that people "keep moving." He shared that he used to swim and play tennis regularly for many years.

Currently, he and Bonnie work out twice weekly with a personal trainer. His core advice is to find enjoyable forms of exercise.

3. Maintain a Balanced Diet

Daniels is looking forward to a homemade birthday dinner featuring his favorite food: pasta, prepared by his son Michael. The meal will also include a fresh salad, which is Bonnie’s favorite.

The actor confirmed he does not follow any strict diet and enjoys comfort foods. He and Bonnie frequently visit their local deli for a substantial breakfast.

His typical order includes poached eggs, toast, bacon, a side of fruit, small orange juice, and coffee. He also stressed the importance of hydration, stating, "It's important" to drink plenty of water.

4. Keep the Mind Sharp

To ensure mental acuity, Daniels makes a point to read daily and stay informed about current events. He shared a humorous note about his reading habits.

"I read The New York Times. That takes me the whole day," he said with a laugh, highlighting his commitment to staying mentally engaged.
