Bournemouth Cycling Vigilante Criticised for Riding Behind Police Car in Emergency Call A local councilor and self‑styled "cycling vigilante" has faced backlash after a video shows him riding close to a police car during a 999 call, raising questions about road safety and the limits of civil enforcement. A cyclist with a reputation for staging confrontations on the road has sparked a new controversy after a video filmed on a busy Bournemouth road was posted to his YouTube channel. Adrian Chapmanlaw, a member of the local Liberal Democrat council, recorded himself riding on the median strip of a dual‑carriageway just after a police vehicle had answered a 999 emergency call and cleared a lane for itself. The footage shows Chapmanlaw quickly taking advantage of the gap created by drivers whom he had earlier pulled over, weaving through stationary vehicles and eventually catching up with the emergency vehicle that had moved forward.
