Bandera County Jail Inmate Death Under Investigation
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Texas Rangers to investigate the death of an inmate that occurred earlier this week.
Details of the Incident
According to Bandera County Sheriff Josh Teitge, the inmate reported feeling unwell to jail staff around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The inmate then collapsed in the presence of staff members.
Life-Saving Efforts
Jail staff and subsequently, emergency personnel, attempted to resuscitate the inmate. Despite their efforts, the inmate was pronounced dead at the scene.
Texas Rangers Lead Investigation
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office has turned the investigation over to the Texas Rangers, a division of the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Rangers will be responsible for determining the circumstances surrounding the inmate’s death.
