A five-week-long competition to find the best dumplings in the Denver metropolitan area has concluded, with a Nepalese restaurant in Aurora taking the top prize.

Reader Voting Determines the Winner

The contest, which involved reader voting, began with 30 dumpling restaurants competing for the title. The field included well-known establishments, from Michelin-recommended restaurants to long-standing favorites and newer contenders.

Momos Take the Crown

The winning restaurant, located at 14200 E. Alameda Ave. in Aurora, specializes in momos – a style of dumpling popular in Indian and Nepalese cuisine. Organizers noted that a momo restaurant wasn't initially expected to win, highlighting the style's growing popularity.

A Variety of Flavors

The restaurant offers a diverse menu of momo flavors. These include tomato-based tikka masala momos, creamy curry korma momos, and traditionally steamed momos seasoned with fresh herbs and served with dipping sauce.

The results demonstrate the increasing appreciation for this style of dumpling within the Denver food scene.
