The eight-member boy group ATEEZ is reaching new career heights in their eighth year together, fueled by a strong connection with their fanbase and a dedication to continuous improvement: “It gives us motivation to do even better for the next album.”
Record-Breaking Album Sales & Fan Appreciation
ATEEZ recently achieved a personal best with their latest album, landing on the charts with 200,000 equivalent units. A remarkable 195,000 units were from pure sales, marking their biggest sales week to date.
Seonghwa, the group’s eldest member at 27, attributes this success to both their hard work and the unwavering support of their fans, known as Atiny. “That comes in part from our efforts — we do work hard — but a lot of that also comes from the people that recognize and acknowledge our efforts, which is our fans, Atiny,” he explained.
The group consistently expresses gratitude for Atiny, frequently acknowledging their importance throughout conversations.
Life on Tour: Asia & Beyond
ATEEZ is currently on the Asian and Australian leg of their “In Your Fantasy” tour, following a successful North American run last summer. The tour began with two nights in Incheon, South Korea.
Despite a demanding schedule since their debut in 2018, the members of ATEEZ maintain a positive and joyful spirit, often finding moments of laughter even amidst busy days.
Creative Input & Album Development
Before releasing their new album, ATEEZ focused on identifying their strengths. “Ultimately, singing and dancing, but we put our heart into it. That’s it,” a member shared.
The group is increasingly involved in the creative process, with members like San contributing to choreography and Hongjoong creating remixes. Hongjoong emphasized the importance of this involvement, stating, “Since it’s an ATEEZ album, honestly, being involved should be the foundation, the basis for it.”
“NASA” & Fan-Focused Tracks
ATEEZ’s dedication to their fans extends to their music choices. The group chose to promote the B-side track “NASA” and create a performance video, driven by their own vision for the song. “When we first listened to the actual guide, the demo of the song, we each sort of had a vision of ourselves,” explained a member.
They also released “Choose” specifically for Atiny, expressing their gratitude for seven years of support through its lyrics and vibe.
Finding Inspiration & Future Goals
The members draw inspiration from various sources, including fashion shows, movies, books, and even other artists. One member shared inspiration from watching performances by Highlight (formerly Beast), noting, “I went back and actually looked at those music videos — I got a lot of inspiration from them.”
Looking ahead, ATEEZ aims to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, win more awards, perform at festivals, and ultimately, be an artist their fans can be proud of.
Maintaining Balance & Group Dynamics
After eight years together, including training, ATEEZ prioritizes communication and individual well-being to maintain balance amidst their busy schedules. They emphasize the importance of releasing stress through activities like travel, gaming, and spending time together.
The members also value learning from each other, recognizing the unique inspiration each member provides.
