Arizona Man Confesses to Parents' Murders
A 29-year-old Arizona man allegedly confessed to brutally murdering his parents after calling 911 on Tuesday night. Jonathan Turk reportedly told emergency dispatchers he “murdered his parents with a hammer and knife because he got mad at them for putting him on medication.”
Details of the Incident
According to court documents, Turk allegedly stabbed Fraser “Scott” Turk, 63, with a knife and then beat Tina Turk, 56, with a hammer at their Peoria, Arizona home. Authorities have described the homicides as “extremely violent and brutal.”
Confession and Arrest
Turk informed dispatchers that his parents’ bodies were upstairs and that the murder weapons were in his room. He stated he would wait for officers outside with a water bottle. Following his confession, Turk was arrested, and police searched the couple’s home.
Evidence and Background
Investigators discovered blood spatters on the floor and stairs, and the hammer and knife were found in a trash can. The Turks’ family had filed three mental health petitions concerning their son in 2026. Turk was found uninjured and had not taken his prescribed medication at the time of the incident.
Concerns for Public Safety
During a hearing, an official expressed concern about Turk’s potential danger to the community if released. He is currently facing first-degree murder charges, which could carry the death penalty.
Tributes to the Victims
Friends and acquaintances have paid tribute to Fraser and Tina Turk, who had been married for 30 years. Rob Cagnetta described the couple as “the definition of a model couple—married for 30 years and radiating a kind of love that we all hope to find in a partnership.” He shared photos to honor their lives and remember their kindness and devotion.
