Ariana Grande Sparks New Music Rumors
Speculation is mounting that Ariana Grande is preparing to release her eighth studio album following a cryptic announcement over the weekend. The Grammy winner has recently been focused on her acting career, portraying Glinda in the upcoming Wicked films.
Grande is scheduled to kick off her Eternal Sunshine Tour in Oakland, California, starting on June 6. This tour was initially expected to support her recent albums, Positions and Eternal Sunshine, the latter of which was released just over two years ago.
The 'Brighter Days Ahead' Hotline Message
To mark the one-year anniversary of her deluxe LP, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead, Grande posted a mysterious audio message to her dedicated fan hotline. The message thanked fans for their loyalty over the past year.
In the recording, Grande stated, “Our staff here at Brighter Days are so looking forward to continuing our mission of bringing happiness and healing to as many as we can this summer in person.” This was intended to build excitement for the upcoming tour dates.
A Cryptic Countdown Tease
The key hint regarding new music came at the conclusion of the hotline message. Grande appeared to slip up, saying, “We’re counting down the 8s—oops! I mean the days.”
This deliberate slip strongly suggests the imminent arrival of her eighth major studio project. Grande herself amplified the buzz by reposting a fan account’s Instagram story featuring the message set to footage from her Brighter Days Ahead short film.
Studio Selfies Fuel Collaboration Theories
Further evidence emerged just days before the hotline announcement. Grande shared several selfies that appeared to be taken inside a recording studio.
Observant fans noted that the setting seemed to belong to renowned producer Max Martin, a frequent and successful collaborator of Grande’s. It is entirely possible that new material could debut before the commencement of her fifth headlining tour.
