Alabama residents are experiencing early summer-like weather as April begins, with warmer and more humid conditions expected throughout the Easter weekend.
Warm Temperatures to Continue
High temperatures will be in the 80s, with lows in the 60s – figures more typical of late May than early April. This warmer trend will continue through the holiday weekend.
Isolated Storms Friday & Saturday
Isolated storms are possible today, Friday, and Saturday, but the overall rain coverage will remain low, at 30% or less each day. Thursday is expected to be the driest and warmest day, with temperatures reaching the mid-80s in many locations.
Saturday's Forecast
Saturday will bring a scattered chance of showers, particularly in western Alabama later in the day. Temperatures will remain in the 80s.
Easter Sunday Rain Expected
A cold front moving across the state on Easter Sunday will significantly increase the chance of rain. While no severe weather is anticipated, residents should expect rain and possible thunderstorms.
Sunday Details
Despite the rain, temperatures on Easter Sunday will likely only reach the 70s, with cloudy conditions persisting between showers. Easter plans may require an indoor backup option.
Cooler Air Next Week
The cold front will bring a drop in humidity and cooler conditions for much of next week. High temperatures will be more seasonable, in the 70s, with less muggy air.
