Why 4,000 unsold units became the prize

The Webtoon platform has been home to many fan-favorite hits out of the West, from Chelsey Han's unOrdinary to Graveweaver's I'm the Grim Reaper, but it's not always necessarily the permanent residence for some of its most beloved stories.. Such is the case with Covenant, created by LySandra Vuong aka Explodikid, equal parts supernatural action and queer romance that commands an immense followiing, with 29.3 million views, 738,600+ followers, and a wild cliffhanger season 2 finale on July 6, 2024.

Despite confirmation that the series would no longer publish on Webtoon, Vuong clearly stated they still had huge plans for the finale.

An echo of Sydney's 2024 institutional buy-up

Now, courtesy of Oni Press, ScreenRant is proud to share the news of Covenant: The Final Chapter, the sixth and final volume concluding the saga of Ezra and Sunny that will only be available in glorious print format.

The volume will debut in stores July 2027, with readers given the early opportunity to reserve a copy and pledge their support via Kickstarter this Pride Month.

Who is the unnamed buyer?

Vuong and Oni Press have shared the gorgeous cover art for Covenant's long-awaited, epic finale, along with multiple exciting collectibles to commemorate the occasion.

Set to release three years after the debut of episode #90, in which Ezra pulls himself in with Sunny as he plunges into Hell to find and stop his father,Covenant: The Final Chapter promises a scorching finale and, ideally, readers get the answers to several burning questions.

A familiar pattern from the 2019 crash

The cover art for the final volume certainly teases a reconciliation bridging the forces, or at least two key representatives, of Heaven and Hell, with Ezra's Blessing and Sunny's Nephilim power juxtaposing nicely just as they have in the previous five print releases.

But with humanity at risk of becoming collateral damage in a supernatural war, Ezra refuses to let Sunny go alone in shutting this catastrophe down.
